VocTech Activate
VocTech Activate is an early-stage grant funding programme from Ufi VocTech Trust designed to help innovators test and develop novel digital solutions that address real-world challenges in adult vocational learning across the UK. It acts as a “test bed” where ideas can be scoped, prototyped, and validated with the support and expertise of Ufi, with the aim of progressing the most promising concepts toward market-ready, scalable products.
Grant details:
- Funding range: £30,000 to £60,000 per project.
- Project duration: Typically 3–12 months.
- Projects must focus on technology-based approaches that improve outcomes for adult learners (16+) and tackle specific vocational skills gaps.
Key criteria:
- Projects must be genuinely innovative, with clear potential to transform how vocational learning happens, not just incremental improvements.
- Applicants should demonstrate a clear understanding of the learner group, including barriers to learning and technology adoption.
- Proposals must show how technology will improve outcomes and include plans for testing, feedback, and scaling.
- Eligible organisations include charities, companies, learning providers, trade bodies and employers; individuals must incorporate before funding.
Application process & deadlines (2026):
- Stage 1 opens: 6 January 2026.
- Stage 1 deadline: 5 pm GMT, 3 February 2026.
- Stage 2 deadline: 5 pm GMT, 24 March 2026.
- Final decisions are expected mid-May 2026.
