The UK Rap Award is a 12-month career development programme delivered by Help Musicians, designed to support artists working across UK rap and its many sub-genres, including grime, drill, hip-hop, afroswing and trap. The award aims to help artists strengthen both their creative output and the business foundations of their careers, supporting sustainable long-term growth.
Successful applicants can receive up to £3,000 in funding to invest in a specific music project, such as recording, releasing or promoting new work. In addition to financial support, the award offers one-to-one business advice with industry professionals, providing tailored guidance on areas such as career planning, income streams and audience development. Recipients will also take part in online peer meet-ups, guest speaker sessions and a one-day industry networking event in London, creating valuable opportunities to build connections within the sector.
The award is open to UK-based musicians aged 18 or over who work professionally in music and earn a significant portion of their income from it. Applications are welcomed from rappers, MCs and producers across the UK rap landscape.
The application deadline is Friday 13 February 2026 at 5pm, with successful applicants expected to deliver their funded projects within 12 months.
