Community organisations, charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises in Sheffield can now apply to the Strength and Growth Fund, a new programme designed to help organisations become stronger, more resilient and sustainable for the future.
The fund offers grants ranging from £5,000 to £50,000 to support projects that strengthen organisational stability, build capacity, increase reach and create long-term sustainability. The aim is to help local organisations develop the skills, resources and infrastructure needed to continue delivering positive impact in their communities beyond the life of the grant.
Funding is available through two tiers: Tier 1 grants from £5,000 to £19,999 and Tier 2 grants from £20,000 to £50,000. Successful projects should demonstrate how the investment will leave the organisation in a stronger position, enabling it to maintain and grow its services over time.
The programme has been developed in partnership with local organisations and focuses on supporting the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector to thrive. Funding could be used to strengthen governance, improve operational capacity, develop income generation opportunities, expand services, or invest in activities that improve long-term resilience.
Applications follow a two-stage process. Organisations must first complete an eligibility check before being invited to submit a full proposal. Applicants are encouraged to review the guidance carefully and attend one of the available information sessions or drop-in events to discuss their ideas with the grants team.
The deadline for applications is 12 noon on 12 October 2026. Organisations considering an application are encouraged to begin the process early to allow sufficient time to complete the eligibility assessment and develop a strong proposal. Support is available for applicants who require assistance with the application process or access to printed documents.
