Lawtech

LawtechUK’s Education Programmes are designed to support lawtech founders and innovators at every stage, from early ideas through to scaling established businesses, while also helping organisations modernise their legal operations through technology and innovation. All programmes are free to access, reducing barriers for entrepreneurs and organisations seeking to engage with the lawtech ecosystem.

There are four core education programmes, each tailored to a different stage of development. Lawtech Fundamentals is aimed at aspiring founders with an idea for a lawtech product but limited experience turning it into a viable business. It provides essential guidance on building a startup, understanding customers, and navigating the legal technology landscape.

Lawtech Mentoring supports founders who are ready to take the next step. It offers personalised, one‑to‑one mentoring from experienced lawtech founders and legal industry professionals, helping businesses refine their strategy, overcome challenges and accelerate growth.

Lawtech Bridge focuses on practical support, providing founders with toolkits, peer insights and direct access to industry partners. The programme helps startups connect with the wider legal sector and gain real‑world perspectives that inform product development and market entry.

Lawtech Scaler is a funded, hands‑on programme for early‑stage founders preparing for scalable growth. It helps participants validate their product, strengthen business foundations and prepare for investment or expansion.

The programmes are delivered by LawtechUK, a Ministry of Justice‑backed initiative dedicated to driving digital transformation across the UK legal sector. Since April 2023, LawtechUK has been managed by CodeBase and Legal Geek on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.
