Household Support Fund: Extended

The Government has announced an extension of the Household Support Fund to help struggling households with bills and essential costs over the winter.

An additional £421million will be distributed to councils in England. These councils can use the scheme to provide small payments to those most in need to help cover energy and water bills, food, and other essential items. Councils will define eligibility criteria, the application process, and what the money can be spent on.

The devolved administrations will receive £79 million in funding and will decide how to allocate the additional funding.

The fund will run until April 2025, with further details to be provided in due course.
