The Green Match Fund, which is a seven-day match funding campaign run by the Big Give in partnership with the Environmental Funders Network, offers non-profit organisations an opportunity to enhance their funding for environmentally-focused projects.
Eligible organisations can apply for grants to support projects that aim to restore, protect, and enhance the natural environment, addressing critical ecological issues such as biodiversity, pollution reduction, and climate resilience. The purpose of this initiative is to enhance the impact of environmental charities by matching public donations, allowing selected organisations to effectively double their fundraising through this match-funding scheme.
Applications are currently open to UK-based charitable organisations whose work aligns with the fund’s environmental aims. Through this programme, charities can apply for up to £50,000 in matched funding, depending on the amount they can raise from the public during the campaign period. The total amount of matched funding available across the programme is determined by the contributions made by major donors and philanthropic partners of The Big Give, with substantial funds allocated to meet the needs of diverse environmental projects.
Organisations must submit their application through an online process, where they will need to outline their project goals, anticipated impact, and fundraising targets.
