Applications are now open for the 2027 European Prize for Women Innovators, a prestigious competition celebrating women entrepreneurs who are transforming innovative ideas into successful businesses and delivering positive impact across society, the economy and the environment. The prize is jointly awarded by the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
The awards recognise outstanding women founders, co-founders and innovation leaders who are driving change through entrepreneurship and innovation. The programme aims to raise the profile of women innovators, inspire future generations and help address the gender gap in innovation and business leadership across Europe.
Three award categories are available. The Women Innovators category offers prizes of €100,000, €70,000 and €50,000 for exceptional founders and co-founders. The Rising Innovators category supports promising women innovators aged under 35, with prizes of €50,000, €30,000 and €20,000. The EIT Women Leadership category recognises outstanding members of the EIT Community, with awards of €50,000, €30,000 and €20,000.
The competition is open to women whose innovations are creating measurable impact across a wide range of sectors, including technology, health, sustainability, climate, digital innovation and advanced manufacturing. Beyond the financial awards, winners and finalists gain valuable European recognition, increased visibility and access to new opportunities, networks and partnerships.
Applications opened on 2 September 2026 and must be submitted by 1 December 2026 at 17:00 CET. An online information session will take place on 17 September 2026 for prospective applicants interested in learning more about the opportunity and eligibility requirements.
