Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a European Union–funded business exchange programme that helps new and aspiring entrepreneurs gain practical experience by working alongside experienced business owners in another participating country. The programme supports cross-border learning, skills development, and international business connections through real-world immersion rather than classroom training.
New entrepreneurs—defined as individuals planning to start a business or who have started one within the last three years—can spend 1 to 6 months with a host entrepreneur running a small or medium-sized enterprise. During the exchange, participants learn about business operations such as management, marketing, finance, and customer development, while also exploring opportunities for international cooperation and market expansion. Host entrepreneurs benefit from fresh ideas, new skills, and potential long-term partnerships.
The programme is open to participants from more than 45 countries, including EU Member States and several non-EU partner countries. Participation is free of charge, and new entrepreneurs may receive financial support to help cover travel and living expenses during the exchange.
Importantly, there is no fixed application deadline. Applications are accepted year-round on a rolling basis, allowing candidates to apply whenever they are ready and to begin once a suitable match is found.
