Creative Grants Programme

The Hugo Burge Foundation Grants Programme provides funding to support creative individuals, community organisations and educational initiatives across the UK. The programme is designed to increase access to arts, crafts and cultural activities while helping artists, charities, schools and community groups develop projects that encourage creativity, participation and skills development.

Securing funding for creative projects can be challenging, particularly for smaller organisations, community groups and independent practitioners. The Hugo Burge Foundation aims to address this gap by providing flexible funding that supports both emerging and established creative activity. The programme focuses on three key areas: Creative Education, Creative Communities and Creative Individuals, enabling a wide range of projects to access support.

The Creative Education strand supports projects that help young people aged 0–29 develop creative skills and knowledge. Eligible applicants include schools, charities, arts organisations, community groups and educational institutions. The Creative Communities fund supports festivals, community organisations and cultural groups delivering creative activities that encourage participation and local engagement. Both funding streams offer grants of up to £15,000, with full funding available for requests up to £10,000 and match funding requirements applying to larger awards. Multi-year funding of up to three years may also be available for selected projects.

The Creative Individuals fund is aimed at artists, makers, performers, musicians and writers seeking support to develop and deliver creative projects. Grants of up to £5,000 are available to support activities such as research, development, training, materials and project delivery.

Applications for the 2026 programme close on 31 July 2026. This opportunity is particularly suitable for creative practitioners, charities, community organisations and educational bodies looking to expand creative opportunities, develop new projects and increase participation in arts and culture across the UK.
