Charles Hayward Foundation

UK-registered charities and not-for-profit organisations seeking financial assistance for their projects can apply for funding from the Charles Hayward Foundation. The Foundation offers two types of grants: main grants and small grants.

The small grants are reviewed on a rolling basis, providing more flexibility for those in need of quicker funding solutions. However, the grants provided by the Foundation are designed to support projects across various sectors, including:

• heritage and conservation – main grants only (this category is currently closed to new applications)
• criminal and social justice  – main grants only
• overseas – main grants only
• older people – small grants only.

The Foundation is interested in funding projects that both develop, expand and replicate tried and tested approached as well as supporting creative solutions to problems which seem to be entrenched and elude resolution.
