The Music Growth Fund is a new funding programme delivered by Arts Council England as part of the Government’s Music Growth Package. The fund is designed to support sustainable growth across the UK music sector, helping organisations expand opportunities for artists, music creators, industry professionals and audiences while strengthening the long-term resilience of the industry.
The programme supports organisations involved in creating, developing, promoting and distributing new music, defined as original music recently created or performed by living, UK-based artists and music creators. Eligible applicants include music festivals, music managers, promoters, publishers, record labels, recording studios, rehearsal spaces, grassroots music venues, sector bodies and other music support organisations.
Funding is available through two grant strands: £1,000 to £40,000 and £40,001 to £100,000. Projects should demonstrate how investment will support business growth, industry development, audience expansion, skills development, increased capacity, sustainability or innovation. Applicants are expected to contribute match funding, with different requirements depending on the value of the grant requested.
Applications are assessed on their potential to generate meaningful growth, make effective use of funding, support a fairer and more inclusive music industry, and contribute to environmental sustainability. The programme aims to strengthen grassroots music infrastructure, nurture emerging talent, support workforce development and help music organisations build stronger, more resilient futures.
