Sheffield Legacy Fund

The Sheffield Legacy Fund, delivered by South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation, provides small grants to support grassroots community organisations delivering activities that improve health and wellbeing across Sheffield. The fund is focused on creating a lasting local impact through community-led initiatives linked to the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available to charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations operating within a three-mile radius of the Park. Consortium applications involving multiple organisations can apply for up to £5,000, enabling collaborative approaches to tackling shared challenges.

Funding is intended to support activities that promote physical and mental health, reduce social isolation and improve community wellbeing. This can include events, programmes or ongoing services, with priority given to projects where the grant will make a meaningful contribution to delivery.

The programme particularly encourages applications from organisations supporting marginalised or underrepresented groups, helping to ensure funding reaches communities facing the greatest need.

Overall, the Sheffield Legacy Fund provides a simple and accessible route for local groups to secure funding, deliver impactful projects and strengthen healthier, more connected communities across Sheffield.
