Barclays Black Founder Accelerator

The Barclays Black Founder Accelerator is a 12‑week programme designed to support and champion Black founder‑led businesses across the UK, particularly those using digital or technological solutions to deliver their products or services. Delivered in partnership with Foundervine, an organisation specialising in supporting under‑represented entrepreneurs, the accelerator helps early‑stage and scaling companies strengthen their business foundations and accelerate growth.

The programme includes twelve expert‑led masterclasses covering essential topics such as value proposition development, product evolution, storytelling and pitching, branding, marketing, sales strategy, financial metrics, cashflow management, legal requirements, recruitment, and founder wellbeing. Participants also receive tailored mentoring from experienced scale‑up experts, access to business and networking events, and support from dedicated Barclays champions. The accelerator culminates in a showcase event where founders pitch their businesses to potential investors and industry professionals.

To be eligible, businesses must be UK‑registered, use digital or tech as part of their core offering, be at seed stage or beyond, and include at least one founder or C‑suite member who identifies as Black or of Black heritage. Applicants must demonstrate industry expertise and commit to attending all programme sessions. The application process involves a written application, a video interview, and final selection. Ongoing support continues after the programme through the Barclays Eagle Labs and Foundervine communities.
