Windrush Day Grant Scheme 2026

The Windrush Day Grant Scheme 2026, delivered by Near Neighbours, provides funding to support community-led projects in England that commemorate, celebrate and educate people about the Windrush generation and their descendants. The scheme aims to recognise the lasting contributions of Caribbean communities to British society while strengthening understanding, inclusion and community cohesion.

Grants of £5,000 to £25,000 are available to a wide range of organisations, including charities, community and voluntary groups, social enterprises, community interest companies, faith organisations and local authorities. Funded projects may include cultural celebrations, exhibitions, performances, workshops, talks, educational activities and creative events that highlight the Windrush story and its relevance today. Projects should be inclusive, accessible and designed to bring people from different backgrounds together.

Activities must take place in England and be delivered between early June and 31 July 2026, with a focal point around National Windrush Day on 22 June 2026. Funding is competitive and demand is expected to be high.

Applications are open now and must be submitted by 23:59 on Tuesday 10 February 2026. Applicants should clearly demonstrate community involvement, strong delivery plans and how their project will promote learning, celebration and lasting community impact.
